The Kitchen

What happens in the kitchen…

In the Sol’s Cliff House kitchen you can cook with the Maine woods just outside the window and the Acadia National Park mountains in the distance. The kitchen features soap stone counter tops, a double bowl sink, and a beautiful imported Bertazonni stainless steel stove with six burners, a griddle and two ovens with broiler and convection capabilities. There are also pieces that harken back to the past, such as a French wood/coal oven, now functioning as an extra counter top, and antique ice-boxes now used for added storage. The kitchen table is perfect for informal meals.

The adjacent pantry offers even more space for meal prep, with an additional sink, a brand new stainless steel Bosch dishwasher, a second refrigerator, an assortment of tableware, plus cabinets and counters. The pantry connects the kitchen and the dining room, with a view of Acadia through the window over the sink and opening at the other end of the room to the covered loggia and picnic table adjacent to the terrace overlooking the bay.

On the other side of the kitchen is a rear sitting room and children’s playroom, with games and a DVD player and a couch.  Next to that are the back porch and the large laundry room—please refer to the amenities page for more details.

See where the magic happens

Sol's Cliff House keeps us coming back, and usually to the kitchen. With a family of "chefs," a house with a great kitchen is central to our vacation success. And this one is just great. It has room for more than 8 of us to cook at any one time, while singing and dancing and storytelling and laughing. It is literally the heart of the house and of our many memories. Sol's Cliff House is a very special place.
